6 Hair Colour Trends That Are Doing The Rounds
Posted on January 06 2017
Everybody loves to experiment with how they look, don’t they? Colouring your hair does just that! It transforms your look for the better. We’re here to make you well-versed with the current hair colour trends so that you can look gorgeous and sassy!
1. Ombre mode on
This one’s our favourite pick and thus #1 on the list. It’s a type of highlight technique where the darkest colour is at the top near the roots of your hair and the colour fades away gradually as we go towards the tips of your hair. It can be done in a natural way! This hair colour technique goes a long way (saying it with experience girls!). Also, this technique certainly makes your hair look a whole lot fuller.
2. Let’s dip & dye
The technique of dip & dye is an easy one. You choose a dye of your colour and decide on the chunk of your hair that needs to be coloured and voila, you’re ready to rock the ramp. One can go bold with colours like red and maroon or keep it soft with undertones of brown and yellow.
3. Beguiling balayage
Balayage aka ‘beachy hair highlights’ trend has become quite renowned lately. The technique involves a free hand stroking of the hair colour for a more natural descent. The hair ends are usually lighter at the ends which gives it an organic ravishing ombre look! It certainly creates the kind of sun-kissed, effortless, Gisele Bündchen-esque effect that gives a luminous dimension to your hair and magically lifts the face. What’s not in it to love? Everybody from our fav Kardashian ‘Khloe’ to singing queen Rihanna (Riri) are sporting it!

4. Lovely lowlights
Lowlights help create a vibrant hair colour that brings out your skin tone and eye colour. We personally love the effect that lowlights give! It makes your hair look so voluminous and lively.
Basically the technique of lowlights is that darker streaks are added in a person’s hair.
Tones of red and tortoise (a blend of copper and gold) colours work best as lowlights.

5. Chunky highlights
This trend of hair colour is for the kinds who like to explore and go a little adventurous with their looks! This type of highlight technique aims at colouring major chunks of your hair with vibrant colours to give it a dramatic look.
6. Crown it up
This one certainly redefines your look! You almost tend to colour random strands of your hair that are two to three shades lighter than your actual hair colour or go for the conventional blonde streaks! In this technique, 8 -12 foils are put through the top (and maybe a few on the sides so that your hair looks natural when you pull it back). It is also a good technique for first-time hi-lighters to see if hi-lighting is something they like.
